What We Do
The SLEW Wellness Center provides no-cost aftercare services to improve the quality of life for uninsured, underinsured, and low income women recovering from and/or undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation treatments. The SLEW Wellness Center program offers a holistic package of free services.
Services include nutritional and benefits counseling; lymphatic drainage therapy; occupational and massage therapy; psychotherapy; health education; bras and prosthetics; wigs and hair dressings; emergency food and utility assistance; art therapy; paraffin skin care; and transportation.
Our services are provided under one roof, in a welcoming, caring setting. SLEW provides the most comprehensive program for after-treatment cancer care in the Bexar County area.
SLEW Wellness Center has been recognized for its unique combination of services: the San Antonio Express-News (July 2004), KENS-TV (January 2005), which gave the program "five stars," Komen Race for the Cure (2006), and the Texas Cancer Council, among others, have all cited our excellent service to the community.
